Erin Shipley, RN, MSN

Erin's passion, entrepreneurial spirit, and professional drive sets the stage for a continued push towards operational excellence. As a registered nurse with over 15 years of leadership experience, Erin continues to break the mold as she develops and coordinates new ways to improve the overall patient experience. Erin challenges leaders to think creatively and breaks down interdepartmental barriers by engaging staff and providing a great place for employees to work, patients to receive care, and physicians to practice medicine.

Professional Experience

As a servant leader, Erin collaborates with all care providers to improve quality, move results, and hardwire standards across departments. Prior to joining Studer Group, Erin was a clinical nurse manager and service line administrator for Lafayette General Health in Lafayette, LA. Erin's experience as a registered nurse in the emergency department and as a nurse leader in outpatient, ambulatory and inpatient units, strengths her ability to deploy the Evidence-Based Leadershipâ„  model in all types of patient care services/modes. Erin embodies the Studer Group ideal that culture trumps strategy every time, but culture and strategy together are unbeatable. Through incredible growth of service lines in a challenging health care market, Erin maintains a renewed commitment to her partners to produce excellence and employee engagement. She strives to reignite and reconnect them back to their passion for purpose, worthwhile work and making a difference. Erin currently serves as the coach specialist and process expert for Studer Group's electronic rounding tool, MyRounding®, and the Must Haves® tactic of Rounding for Outcomes.

Signature Engagements

  • Served as coach and account leader for organizations selected to present at What's Right in Health Care®, annual best practices conference
  • Led the creation of new service offerings to optimize coaching of Rounding for Outcomes with technology
  • Coached a 600-bed academic medical center to achieve improvement by 15 top box points in one year in Overall rating, Nurse Communication, and Responsiveness of Staff as measured by HCAHPS
  • Coached a 300-bed community hospital to increase HCAHPS Responsiveness of Staff from the 25th percentile to the 80th percentile in 15 months
  • Led a partnership with a pediatric hospital to achieve overall patient satisfaction at the 98th percentile, up from the 40th percentile just two years previously
  • Led a partnership with a five-hospital system with over six ambulatory surgical centers to increase ambulatory surgery satisfaction from the 18th to the 90th percentile in one year
