This year’s Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award winners are from the healthcare and education fields and were selected from 22 applicants across six categories, including manufacturing, small business, education, healthcare, service and nonprofit. Dr. JoAnn Sternke, Superintendent of Pewaukee School District, presented at Studer Group’s
What’s Right in Education, which ran simultaneously with What’s Right in Health Care® in Atlanta, GA. The
presentation focused on the district’s commitment to quality and a continuous improvement system worthy of Baldrige recognition. Pewaukee School District achieved a 97.4 percent graduation rate in 2012-2013, despite having some of the most demanding graduation requirements in the state for public schools. Their door-to-doctor time averaged 22 minutes in 2012, well below the California benchmark of 58 minutes. The employee satisfaction and engagement scores at Sutter Davis Hospital also exceed the top ten percent as listed by the national survey database.
