Employee Forum Checklist

December 2017

Employee forums are employee meetings led by senior leaders. These meetings should occur three to four times a year and are one of the most effective tactics for communicating important, consistent messages across the entire organization. In fact, research shows that employee forum attendance is directly correlated to employees’ attitudes about how well information is communicated by the organization’s leadership. For these meeting to be effective, there are many large and small details that need to be managed and executed in a timely manner.

The Employee Forum "To Do" Checklist provides a prioritized list of tasks starting with preparations that should be done four week in advance of the event.

Leader Evaluation Process: Goal Setting Quiz and Answer Key

November 2017

A common mistake in goal setting is that, instead of outcomes, tactics such as projects or processes are used as goals. A typical example of this mistake in a clinical setting is listing “compliance with hand washing policy” as a goal. While handwashing compliance is something we strive to achieve, it is a tactic used to achieve the more effective goal of reducing infections.

This goal setting quiz is a group activity designed to help teams differentiate between goals and tactics and offers practice on writing SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-Bound) goals.
