Barbara Loeb, MD, MBA, CPE
As a Physician Coach with the Studer Group, an internationally known Baldrige winning organization, since 2009, Dr. Loeb has focused on implementing an Evidence Based Leadership model to create cultures of high performance and patient centeredness. Currently Dr. Loeb works as the Chief Medical Officer for Land of Lincoln Health, a nonfor- profit insurance CO-OP started in 2013 to provide consumer centric coverage for individuals and employer groups in Illinois purchased through the health care exchange.
Previously, she served as the Vice President of Primary Care Services and Chief Medical Officer for Presence Health Partners, a network of over 1,000 health care providers within Presence Health, the largest Catholics system in Illinois.
Dr. Loeb also held the position of Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at Presence Resurrection Medical Center (PRMC), one of the flagship hospitals within Presence Health. During her tenure at PRMC, she played a key role in implementation of the EHR and preparation for their new Joint Commission accreditation.
Prior to joining Presence Health, Dr. Loeb was the interim Vice President of Medical Management at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center and Eureka Hospital, in Bloomington-Normal, IL, part of Advocate Health Care, the largest health system in Illinois. Advocate has been named, on multiple occasions, as one of the top 10 systems in the United States by Thompson Reuters. In addition, she was an active member of Advocate Physician Partners’ team that developed one of the first FTC approved Clinical Integration programs. Dr. Loeb has published on the topics of physician – nurse collaboration and creating a medical staff dashboard to drive performance.
Dr. Loeb credits much of her success to the insights she has gained from her 30+ years as a practicing Internist; in independent practice, as well as her engagement with the Medical Staff as president and leader at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, another Baldrige winner. Throughout her career, Dr. Loeb has work on understanding and building the “why” behind change for providers. Dr. Loeb believes that leaders must work collaboratively with providers, staff and patients to achieve the highest level of quality, efficiency and satisfaction.
