About Gritman Medical Center
Gritman Medical Center is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit, Critical Access Hospital located in north Idaho and dedicated to providing excellent healthcare services to patients. A vital member of the community for more than 100 years, Gritman has 465 employees, and is the largest private employer in Latah County. Our staff is highly educated and retention is high with nursing staff turnover at below the national average.
As a not-for-profit hospital we reinvest any earnings above and beyond the cost of services rendered back into the hospital. These investments take the form of new medical technology and services that benefit our community.
Our Culture - The Gritman Way
Gritman Medical Center, our dedicated medical staff, board members, employees and volunteers share a vision of excellence. We are committed to making Gritman the best place for staff and volunteers to work, for physicians to practice medicine, and for patients to receive care.
Helping us on our journey is the Studer Group. We began the journey in 2006 when we selected Hardwiring Excellence to drive our leadership development initiative. Since January 2011, Gritman has been a devoted Studer partner, developing and hardwiring communication skills and concepts such as AIDET, thank you notes, managing up, key words at key times, and rounding for outcomes. Several of our staff and leadership have attended Studer Group conferences and they always return with renewed energy, enthusiasm and conviction that we are on the right path.
Six foundational pillars drive our strategic initiatives:
Quality and Service
Finance and Facilities
These pillars provide the framework for measuring results, evaluating our leaders and achieving organizational excellence.
