Hôpital Montfort: The Emergency Department at Hôpital Montfort has had many successes in the past 12 months that are helping to ensure that its patients are receiving high quality and evidence-based care. All of the new and improved ways of doing things have significantly improved some of their core quality indicators and patient experience scores. These improvements have not only been significant but more importantly, sustained.
St Joseph's Health Care London: Renowned for compassionate care, St. Joseph’s Health Care London is a leading academic health care centre in Canada dedicated to helping people live to their fullest by minimizing the effects of injury, disease and disability through excellence in care, teaching and research. Through partnership with Lawson Health Research Institute and our collaborative engagement with other health care and academic partners, St. Joseph’s has become an international leader in the areas of: chronic disease management; medical imaging; specialized mental health care; rehabilitation; specialized geriatrics; and surgery.
Alexandra Marine and General Hospital: Faced with challenges ranging from a multiyear 0% funding constraint and compensation freeze to multi-year mandatory union settlements and a Ministry imperative to maintain a balanced budget, AMGH focused on building resiliency, accountability and alignment in their culture. The results - a reduction of sick time and overtime, an increase in staff satisfaction as well as ER patient satisfaction, reduced readmissions, and more.
Arnprior Regional Health: Reduced readmission rates for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) by more than 20%; 87% of corporate goals were achieved; scores across all measures were 3.9 out of 5; 100% of patient, resident and client goals of experience rating of excellence were achieved; three consecutive years improving staff engagement.
Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre: Emergency Department (ED) wait times – admitted: moved from the 10th percentile to 50th; ED wait times – complex: from 10th to 70th; medication reconciliation from 40th – 50th; would you recommend from 10th to 70th; overall employee satisfaction from 10th to 80th and first year staff turnover rate moved from 10th to 50th percentile.
Sault Area Hospital: Hospital acquired infection reduced by 46%; C. Difficile reduced by 82%; lost time to injury reduced by 68% employee satisfaction increased by 42%; working capital deficit reduced by $50 Million.
The Ottawa Hospital: Surgical cancellations due to high occupancy were reduced from 600 annually to 0; Hand hygiene compliance exceeded target goal of 80%, currently 90%; Inpatient rating of care improved to 96% positive responses and over 48% excellent responses.
