A total of 236 healthcare organizations applied for consideration. From the 100 that were selected, 43 were hospitals and 31 were healthcare systems.

The final rankings of the top 100 organizations will be announced at an awards dinner sponsored by Studer Group and hosted by Modern Healthcare in Chicago on October 29, 2008. The dinner immediately follows Studer Group's half-day summit for senior leaders, Creating Great Places for Women to Work,at the InterContinental Chicago on October 29.
