Stories of Purpose, Worthwhile Work, and Making a Difference - Help

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." Some like to refer to it as "Ready for Some Stories." It is a way for you to get the latest stories from your favorite websites in one place.

There are a couple of ways to take advantage of RSS feeds:

  1. The first applies only if you use Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox as your web browser. When you click on the subscribe link in one of those web browsers, you will have the option to subscribe to the RSS feed. This will basically create a "live bookmark" for you. Instead of navigating to the page to see if the story has been updated, you could check the feed. You will see the name of the story, a description, and a link to view the story.
  2. The second way to take advantage of RSS feeds is to download an RSS Reader. RSS readers are standalone applications that you install on your computer that allow you to subscribe to feeds and view them within the application. Again, the idea is to save time and not have to check the Featured Story page to see if the story has been updated. Once the story is updated, the feed should automatically update in your RSS Reader, and you can then proceed to click the link and read the story.

RSS Feeds are available for your convenience. You can still read the daily story without subscribing. One easy option is to bookmark the Featured Story page and check back every weekday around lunchtime to see the latest story.

Also, if you would like to receive the Featured Story in your Email Inbox every day, please click here to send an email to Stephen Dickerson with the subject "Sign me up to receive daily featured stories by email!" (without the quotes). This is probably the easiest and best way to ensure you never miss a story.
