Our Calling is Caring: November 07

Patients and Families
In a recent conversation with a patient family member during a post-visit call, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital learned that discharge calls not only impact patients' lives, but also the families caring for them. A nurse calling to follow-up captured a sincere and significant impact from a family who had been with their mother in the hospital. 'My mom was treated by the caregivers on your floor and we just wanted you to know that you have some of the best staff on your floor that we have ever seen in health care. They were fabulous. Carrie, Lisa, Zen, Kristina, Vicki, and Inga from Physician Therapy and Tina to name a few were awesome. My brother is a physician and he was very impressed with the care provided to my ailing mother. My family cannot thank them enough for the pride they had in the daily actions of caring for my mother and family. I was there everyday and everyone was so happy, smiling and helpful. Please let the hospital executives know of the exceptional care provided to her. My brother will also be writing a letter to the CEO to thank him for the wonderful care provided and he is personally ensuring the patients he treats receive the same care. You all made it a wonderful experience at Good Samaritan Hospital.'
