About Studer Group

Studer Group: Helping Healthcare Organizations Thrive in an Age of Change

Studer Group® works with over 800 healthcare organizations in the U.S. and beyond, teaching them how to achieve, sustain, and accelerate exceptional clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. We help set them up to be able to execute quickly. And with the rapid changes occurring in our industry due to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ushering in the pay-for-performance era, this ability has never been more critical.

As the metrics our industry publically reports get expanded—and as reimbursement is increasingly tied to these results—organizations are forced to get progressively better at providing top quality care with fewer dollars. We help our partners install an execution framework called Evidence-Based LeadershipSM (EBL) that aligns their goals, actions, and processes. This framework creates the foundation that enables them to transform the way they provide care in this era of rapid change.

Cultures of Execution

EBL creates a culture of execution that empowers organizations to respond to new initiatives more quickly and effectively than the rest of the nation. In fact, the EBL framework we coach our partners to implement helps them accelerate the rate of improvement and efficiency in their clinical care and also maximizes reimbursement. EBL also leads to favorable HCAHPS results and reduces the occurrence of hospital-acquired conditions and preventable readmissions. What's more, our research proves these improved clinical outcomes enhance physician loyalty and allow for the positioning that facilitates the successful creation of an ACO. In short, each improvement our partners make opens the door to the next one.

Studer Group Partners Outperform the Nation across HCAHPS Composites

EBL and the Baldrige Award

It's this commitment to helping organizations accelerate their ability to execute that led to Studer Group receiving the 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Our evidence demonstrates that the EBL framework—especially the consistency it creates—is a natural fit with the Baldrige criteria. In fact, six of the twelve healthcare organizations that have received the award were coached by Studer Group.

The same EBL principles we teach our partners are also hardwired in our own organization. The framework forces us to operate with the efficiency, discipline, and accountability that allowed us to achieve a Baldrige Award level of quality in the first place. It also creates the kind of environment that naturally attracts high performers and allows them to thrive. We are honored to have been recognized as one of the best small companies to work for in America for each of the last three years.

Resources for Results-Driven Organizations

Most organizations we work with engage in coaching partnerships, where we provide resources that help them implement our evidence-based approach. While our team of performance experts includes administrative, clinical, and medical directors with a wide variety of leadership experience, we have many experts with nursing leadership backgrounds since so much of our work impacts the hands-on aspect of care delivery.

We view our work as much a calling as a profession. It's why our performance experts work so hard to help partners attain and sustain outstanding results. It's why our speakers share their messages with organizations across the country. And it's why we offer so many educational resources—books, webinars, institutes, software accelerators, and more—to our partners and to the industry as a whole.

The Studer Group Learning Lab is offered exclusively for partners. It's a repository of high-impact tactics—many of them based on "best practices" harvested and refined inside our national resource of partner organizations—proven to help achieve and sustain outstanding results. Included are videos, leadership articles, and other resources that help partners further accelerate performance.

It all comes back to making healthcare better. We know that's your passion. It's ours too…and working together we can create great places for employees to work, physicians to practice medicine, and patients to receive care.

Results Across the Board

Studer Group partners experience rapid and remarkable improvement in every area, setting them far apart from the average hospital. For example:
